Join a Small Group!
Around Crossroads, we believe that life is better when lived with others. In fact, one of our core foundations is maintaining and building community. We love seeing people find life-long friendship, challenge each other to go deeper with God, and to enjoy life and laughing together. Whether you are just entering into Campus Life or the crazy world of the twenty-something, these groups are for you. Remember, that unless specified, you can join a group at any time. Some groups are on-going and others semester based.
Information does change occasionally, so check back at the connections center for the most updated information or call the group leader before getting started. Another value we hold high is the value of impact - making a contribution. Some of the greatest people in the Bible got that way because they obediently stepped out in faith to serve. Take a close look at the many ways you can serve, contribute and lead. Come and be a part of the beautiful fabric of our church family that is seeking to make a difference in our world!
Young Adult “2:42” Home Bible Studies
2:42 derives it’s meaning from Acts 2:42-47 where it describes the early Christian Community of believers. They met in homes, they studied God’s Word and they shared life together. Studies are based off of the weekend worship teaching. Groups are mixed and are open to any 20 something – single or married. Groups meet in homes throughout the week. Contact Rick Lowry, our small groups guy, at 858-3080, ext. 310 for more info.

Young Adult Ministry Leadership Team
“Those who lead many to righteousness will shine like the stars forever.” Daniel 12:3
A core distinctive of our Young Adult Ministries is that every small group and activity is led by a team of your peers. What makes this group distinctive is their voluntary commitment to Servanthood week after week. Jesus was the greatest leader ever known. He was also a servant to all. At Crossroads, to serve is to lead. Servant-leaders are always needed to lead events, small groups and provide valuable input into the direction of the ministry.
Expectations
• Commit to consistent service on a Young Adult team.
• Assist with Crossroads events.
• Attend and participate in the Young Adult leadership Team meeting and events.
• Adhere to Biblical guidelines for leadership as summarized in the Young Adult Leadership Honor Code.
The Young Adult Leadership Honor Code
As and essential part of the Crossroads Leadership Team, you have a responsibility to develop and exhibit mature Christian behavior. This should be the basic premise of your desire to work in a leadership position in the ministry.
As Christians, the way we present ourselves to others is of vital importance to the way others perceive Christ. Our conduct should never be an embarrassment to Christ, but should
exemplify the qualities of a mature believer.
Exemplifying the highest moral commitment, Crossroads leaders are to maintain a disciplined life of Bible reading and prayer. You must also refrain from such things as profanity, smoking or chewing tobacco, high stakes gambling, drunkenness, dishonest gain, illegal drugs, pornography, sexual immorality and all behaviors that might cause Christ to grieve
and others to stumble.
Leadership Opportunities
• Small group (2:42) leader
• Small groups coach/shepherd
• Special events/activities coordinator
• Adult Education Teacher

Young Adult Worship Opportunities
Every week, people of all ages come together for an intergenerational experience we call worship. It is our intent to reflect this wide diversity of ages and life backgrounds AND our common unity through Christ through our weekend worship. Some weeks you will see an 18-year old sharing the worship platform with a grandma. This is a beautiful thing and a wonderful reflection of the body of Christ. That said, we still seek to reflect the unique contributions of each age group in worship. The voice of the Young Adult is an important part of that expression. If you enjoy making music, you may consider being a part of these special musical groups. You can fill out the interest card or contact these groups directly. Come and make a joyful noise with us!
YAE!
YAE stands for Young Adult Ensemble. Okay, not very original, but very cool! About once a month, the weekend services are taken over by this ensemble who leads in fresh and powerful worship. If you enjoy being a part of the worship experience, this group is for you. Contact Chris Hirsch at 858-3080, ext. 309. Rehearsal times are scheduled as needed. Call for vocal interview.
Crossroads Church Choir
The CCChoir is a dynamic and active worship and outreach ministry that performs monthly is weekend worship and presents two annual concerts. Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings and no audition if required to participate. Contact Julia Lee at 858-3080, ext. 308.
Vocal Teams and Solo Work
Our Weekend Worship is at the very heart of our identity as a church family. All vocalists and praise teams are comprised of volunteers who are willing to serve in this special way. A vocal interview is required to participate. The interview allows us to share the heart and vision of the worship ministry and to discuss opportunities for service. Each vocal team rehearses during the week prior to participating in services. Contact Julia Lee at 858-3080, ext. 308 to schedule an interview.
Instrumental
Do you play brass? Strings? Woodwinds? Guitar? Whatever the instrument, there are great opportunities to serve. All music at Crossroads is live and we play at special events, seasonal events and of course every weekend service. An instrumental interview is required to participate. Contact Julia Lee at 858-3080, ext. 308 for details
Drama/Media
Some of the most impactful weekend services are reinforced with thoughtful dramatic or media moments. Actors, writers, filmmakers, and set construction servants are needed. Contact Todd Bussey at 858-3080, ext. 305 to schedule an interview.
Friendship Sports
There is nothing like a little sweat and some friendly competition to make new friends and to build bridges into more meaningful relationships. Friendship Sports is volunteer-led and designed to provide moderately competitive activity in a wholesome environment that includes times for prayer and encouragement.
What makes us unique?
• We expect competitive play without the attitude or language.
• We encourage each team meet each week to pray for and support one another.
• Sometimes we host leagues and sometimes we join city leagues, but we always seek to play clean and make a positive impression.
• Teams are encouraged to host an end-of-season fellowship – off the field.
• All teams will be expected to participate in an inner-city work project to help the underserved.
• We run our programs “on the cheap” which means we have no overhead and those who play cover the costs associated with running their team.
Joining a Team
You can join a team, coach a team, or even oversee a league. Let us know of your interest by filling out response card.

College-age Resources For You!
Are you attending school on a campus located out of town and are looking for ways to stay connected to your Crossroads church family while away? Are you coming to Evansville for School and are looking for a church family to “adopt” you while away from your home church family? We want to connect with you! Let us hear from you.
Adopt a Student
Are you from out of town, but attending a School in Evansville? Can we “adopt” you? Adopt-a-student is a simple thing where we connect a Crossroads family with a University student or a small group of University friends. The “Adoptive” family agrees to open their home to you – meals, sitting together in worship, provide transportation needs – effectively be a mom and dad when you need one nearby. If this sounds good to you – and it should – stop by the connections center and pick up an application. Contact Jody Risner at 490-2370.
Care packages
Our church family wants to stay in touch with you throughout the year – to let you know that we are praying and thinking about you. Take time to register to receive your care packages while you are at college. Contact Jody Risner at 490-2370.

Local Student Christian Fellowships
University of Evansville - University of Southern Indiana
Student Christian Fellowship is a recognized student group at the Universities of Evansville and at Southern Indiana. Our main desire is to actively participate in the ongoing transformation of ordinary college students into compassionate disciple-making followers of Jesus. SCF has three full time campus ministers as well as several interns and dozens of students that lead and serve faithfully every week both up front and behind the scenes. There are many ways to get connected and plugged in. SCF holds a weekly worship gathering on both campuses. Every semester there are a host of small group gatherings that focus on Bible study or service teams (inner city, encouragement, prayer, etc).
