Let’s face it—we’re not all professional evangelists, nor can we understand and meet every need of society. Jesus never asked us to do either of those things. He said to tell people about him and to minister to the poor. And we can all do that!

Many Christians feel reluctant to share Jesus with others because they lack confidence or they feel under-prepared. And many times we miss opportunities to serve because we don’t know where or how to start.

And while it’s understandable that we might not intuitively know how to do these things—neither can we remain ignorant to these basic Christian practices.

The solution is to educate ourselves and to develop the ability to do these things with love and with effectiveness.

Evangelism Training Classes
Adult education classes such as Contagious Christianity, Irresistible Evangelism, and H2O to equip us to effectively and naturally share Jesus with others.

Outreach Training Classes
It’s vitally important for us to understand a culture in order to be able truly engage in effective ministry there. It’s true in global missions and it’s true in community outreach as well. Classes such as Compassion By Command and the community-based Bridges Out of Poverty seminar prepare both our heads and our hearts for meaningful service by helping us understand the poverty culture and God’s heart for the poor.

Inner City Van Tours
These educational van tours are hosted by Outreach Pastor Eric Cummings and provide individuals, families, and small groups with a firsthand look at what’s really happening in the inner city. You’ll also learn how you can make a difference in our community. Tours are conducted monthly and by appointment for groups.

Guide to Community Serving Opportunities
As Christ-followers, Jesus commissioned us to be high-impact people, and to be a high-impact church. He has called us to meet the needs of “the least of these” among us and to invest our time, talents, and resources in reaching out to lost and hurting people. Nothing in this world is more vibrant and amazing than the church when it is fully alive and functioning as God’s agent of compassion and transformation in its community.

The Guide to Community Serving Opportunities is designed to help you discover and live a high-impact life. It’s ideal for individuals, families, and small groups in the journey of loving and serving our neighbors. It provides a listing of our Community Ministry Partners, as well as other ministries, non-profits, and organizations in our region that rely on volunteers to provide a variety of important services to our community.
